Standard Online Share Trading and Stockbroking has been named as South Africa's Top Stock Broker and received the People's Choice Award at the Business Day Investor's Monthly 2014.
The annual awards are judged through questionnaire responses submitted on-line from a broad range of participants, a mystery shopper exercise as well a questionnaire filled in by the broker.
"We are extremely pleased to have been recognized by our clients as the leading South African stockbroker," says Brett Duncan, Head of Retail Equities at Standard Bank Group. "We are also ecstatic to have won the "People's Choice" award as it reflects our client-centric focus."
Standard Online Share trading provides one of the largest online share trading platforms in South Africa and has been operational for over 15 years. Users of online share trading can trade a number of products, including shares, warrants, futures, contracts for difference (CFD) and exchange traded notes (ETN).
Mr Duncan says that a critical factor to take into account when looking at on-line trading is that if you are going to go the on-line route, you need to make the time to educate yourself. Standard Online Share Trading provides a number of educational platforms for retail investors, these come in the form of face to face training seminars, webinars and educational documentation.
Maria Jenner, Head of Standard Bank Stockbroking, says: "The two awards are as a result of collaboration between Online Share Trading and the Standard Bank Stockbroking division in ensuring that we invest appropriately in technology and deliver relevant products. We listen to our clients and deliver on what they tell us they need and want. Within our trading platform, investors can transact a wide range of products, listed on the JSE Limited, which we regularly evolve and expand."
