Standard Bank would like to inform customers of a scheduled maintenance window that will temporarily affect our digital banking services.
As part of Standard Bank’s ongoing commitment to delivering a secure, reliable, and enhanced banking experience, we are implementing important back-end upgrades to our systems. These upgrades form part of our broader journey to further improve performance, resilience, and scalability across our digital platforms.
Scheduled downtime details
- Date: Saturday, 16 May 2026
- Time: From 23:00 to approximately 03:00 (Sunday, 17 May 2026)
- Duration of disruption: Approximately 2 hours within this window
During this period, the following services will be temporarily unavailable:
- Standard Bank Mobile App (SBG Mobile)
- Internet Banking (SBG Web)
What customers need to know
- Customers are encouraged to plan ahead and complete any urgent transactions before the maintenance window.
- Debit card, ATM, and point-of-sale transactions will continue to operate as normal.
- Services will be fully restored as soon as the upgrade is completed.
We understand that any service interruption can be inconvenient and apologise for any disruption caused. This upgrade is a critical step in strengthening our digital capabilities and ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Dedicated teams will be actively monitoring the process throughout the deployment.
Customers in other regions who make use of Standard Bank’s digital banking platforms may also experience temporary service disruption during this period.
