Our Business and Commercial Clients (BCC) segment provides broad-based client solutions to a wide spectrum of small and medium enterprises, as well as large commercial businesses. Our Client Coverage support extends across the 14 sectors in which we operate; providing our clients with deep sector knowledge and solutioning expertise. We have partnered with businesses for nearly 160 years and it is our approach to client relationships that truly distinguishes us, encapsulated by the phrase ‘partnering for growth’.

Our exclusive partnership with the world’s largest bank, the Industrial Commercial Bank of China, provides our clients with access and expertise on the Chinese market – offering endless opportunities for businesses. Our purpose within Business Enablement is very powerful: we build organisational capability, and capacity, as we develop and execute client value propositions in the following key areas: Personalisation, Digital and Commercialisation, Ecosystems Banking, Agribusiness, Africa-China Banking (including Trade), Public Sector and Franchising. Enterprise Direct is also managed by Business and Commercial Clients’ Enablement.

Our Client Service teams

Our Client Service teams are comprised of cross segment, product and geography teams working with our Africa Regions business to enhance multi-jurisdictional client experience. Our client facing business also has the necessary expertise and experience to create appropriately tailored solutions to meet our clients’ complex needs.

Moonshots

Moonshots develops propositions with a focus on growing new businesses across Standard Bank, aiming to generate R1bn revenue over 3-5 years through partnerships.

We are part of Business and Commercial Clients – but operate as a Group function, enabling us to leverage all the group’s resources while exploring external opportunities. Some of the businesses we’ve incubated are Trade Suite, Trade Club and BixFlex and we have a partnership with FFA to support and drive the African economy through entrepreneurship.

Selection process

  • Shortlist: Our Talent Acquisition Specialist and relevant Hiring Manager review all applications and make a shortlist of the most suitable candidates.
  • Competency- based interview: If you’re shortlisted, we’ll invite you to take part in a competency-based interview.
  • Assessments: If you’re successful in with the interview, you’ll move on to the assessments. Depending on the role you’re applying for, you might be asked to undertake a case-study exercise, technical test, and psychometric assessment, as well as any other role-specific assessment.
  • Panel- interview: Then you’ll proceed to final interview stage, where you’ll meet an interview panel and get to ask further questions.

Pre-employment screening

If you have been successful in the selection process, our Talent Acquisition team will get in touch to get your consent for our pre-employment screening which includes the following:
 

  • Identity and educational qualification verification
  • Credit record and criminal record
  • Outside Business Interest Declaration and Personnel Account Trading Declaration
  • Sanctions screening and confirmation of current employment.

Offer

If we’re happy with your pre-employment screening, one of our Talent Acquisition Specialists will prepare your employment contract and send you an offer letter, detailing everything you’ll need to know about your new role.
