How to apply for a graduate, learnership or internship programme

Step 1:
New application

  • Visit our careers portal to search for graduate, learnership and internship programmes that match your skills and qualifications.
  • Apply for a suitable programme by creating a SmartRecruiters profile or uploading your LinkedIn profile. Submit your application with your supporting documents.
  • You will also be required to complete a short pre-screening questionnaire.

Step 2:
In review

  • Our team reviews the applications and then shortlists the candidates whose skills best match the programme.

Step 3:
Interviews and assessments

  • As part of the selection process, you may be invited to complete assessments such as technical exercises, case studies, video interviews and/or psychometric assessments. These are designed to help us better understand your strengths, skills, and potential.
  • If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to participate in one or more interviews. We see these as two-way conversations about your future. It's an opportunity for us to get to know you better, while giving you the chance to learn more about our culture, teams, and the growth opportunities available to you.
  • As we move through the recruitment process, you may be asked to complete pre-employment screening, which can include criminal, credit, and qualification checks. This is a standard part of our recruitment process and helps us meet regulatory and business requirements. Please note that being asked to complete these checks does not necessarily mean that you have been selected for the role, as hiring decisions are only made once the full assessment process has been completed.

Step 4:
Offer and onboarding

  • If you are the successful candidate, we will contact you with a formal offer detailing your role, remuneration and benefits.
  • Once you accept the offer, we will help you prepare for your first day. Our team will guide you through the process and ensure you have the tools, information and support you need to start your growth journey with us.

Frequently asked questions

Our Talent Acquisition team will review your application. They will shortlist the candidates whose skills and experience best match the role. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the interview stage of the hiring process. If your application is unsuccessful, we will let you know by email.
What kinds of assessments will I need to complete?
You may be asked to complete a case study, technical test or psychometric assessment. These assessments are role-specific and help us evaluate your technical and behavioural capabilities.
Are people with disabilities supported during the hiring process and in the workplace?
Yes. We value ability in all its forms. We have an inclusive culture and are open to accommodating special needs throughout the hiring process and in the workplace.
Am I guaranteed a job offer if I reach the screening stage?
No. Reaching the screening stage does not guarantee that you will receive an offer of employment. The recruitment process is competitive, and the hiring manager will make the final decision based on the candidate whose skills, experience and suitability best match the requirements of the role.
How will I receive my official job offer?
Our Talent Acquisition team will send you a formal offer letter and employment contract. These documents will set out the key details of your new role and the terms of your employment. Your Talent Acquisition Specialist will talk you through the contract and answer any questions you may have.
What happens once I accept the job offer?
We will welcome you with an engaging onboarding experience that begins before your official start date. This will ensure you have the information, resources and support you need to prepare for your first day.
Hints and tips for students and graduates
What is the first step in planning my future career path?
Start by taking some time to reflect on your interests, values, strengths and the skills you would like to develop. This will help you identify opportunities that align with who you are, what motivates you and where you would like to grow.
How can I make my CV stand out?
Focus on your achievements, both academic and beyond. Highlight the impact you made through academic projects, leadership roles, part-time work, volunteering or extracurricular involvement. Use specific examples and measurable results where possible.
How do I tailor my application for a specific job?
Read the job description carefully and highlight the skills, experiences and achievements that best match the role. Use examples from your studies, projects, work experience or extracurricular activities to show how you meet the requirements. A tailored application demonstrates genuine interest and makes it easier for us to see your fit for the role.
How can I prepare for teamwork questions in an interview?
Prepare examples that show how you have worked with others to achieve a shared goal. Explain the role you played, the contribution you made and the outcome the team achieved. You should also be ready to describe how you have handled different opinions or resolved disagreements constructively while maintaining strong working relationships. Consider the key impressions and messages you want the interviewer to leave with and make sure you create opportunities to communicate them during the interview.
What is a smart way to stay organised during my search?
Use a simple spreadsheet or tracker to record your applications, closing dates, interview dates and follow-up actions. Keep copies of each job description, the CV you submitted and your interview preparation notes. This will make it easier to stay organised and prepare confidently for each opportunity.
What should I do if I keep facing rejection?
Try not to see rejection as the end of your journey. Recruitment processes are competitive, and not being selected does not mean that you do not have valuable skills or potential. Before applying, carefully review the minimum requirements and ensure that you meet them, and double-check your application and pre-screening questions for accuracy. Reflect on what you can learn and how you can continue developing your skills and building your network. Remember, finding the right opportunity can take time.
